Ourlads' Profile:
2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about MALACHI DUPRE: LSU, 6024 196 4.53. Junior entry from New Orleans, LA. Started 19 games over three years. Explosive leaping ability. Has respectable long speed in combination with good sized frame. Good ball skills. Uses vertical jumping ability to turn 50/50 balls into 70/30 propositions. Will go to the ground to dig out a poorly thrown ball. Good size catch radius. Is incredibly gifted at tracking the deep ball downfield. Consistent with his ability to catch the football. Doesn’t have great play strength or clear competitive passion for the game. Never had big production at LSU despite athletic gifts, although LSU’s offense and quarterbacks struggled. Doesn’t explode off the ball into his route. Gives effort to block in the run game. Not a strong competitor, he seems to just go through the motions at times. Not very willing to get involved in physical football. No decisive or crisp route stems or fakes in his route running. Everything is rounded off. Dupre never had the statistical success you would have liked given his athletic ability. The LSU offense did contribute to some of his lack of success. Some scouts might have him graded higher given his measurables, but Dupre needs to show a commitment to the work and willingness to play competitive football. 2016 stats:41-593, 14.5 ypr, 3 TD. OSR:25/60. Sixth/seventh round. (A-31 1/2, H-9, VJ-39.5, SS-4.28).
