A smooth athlete on the outside with excellent body control and balance both pre and post engagement. Accurate hands that find the inside position over and over. Recovers well if initially beat, able to re-anchor with a wide and strong base and low pad level. Understand and uses proper leverage. Rarely caught over-setting and almost never shows his numbers to the ground. Stays within himself and will not abandon technique. Explosive lateral mover in the running game. Will get himself across the face of a defender, keeps upfield momentum as he stretches across the front. Will need his own key to the weight room and cafeteria to avoid losing against pro-caliber bull rushes. Still growing into his frame and does not yet have the man meat on his bones, notably below the waist.

Two year starter from Cincinnati, OH. Spent the 2021 season inside at guard and shifted out to left tackle in 2021 after Nicholas Petit-Frere headed to the NFL. Elite foot quickness and overall lower body twitch that gets in a high number of steps each snap. Steps on all the ants as he progresses to his spot and engages with his target. Smoothly turns his hips into the hole and shows advanced tactics when it comes to extending his hips with inside hand position. Stays attached to his target with a strong grip but also subtle hip mobility. Fires off the ball with aggression and quickly shortens the space between him and his man. Consistently gains the initial advantage and has the speed to hang on. Will need to continue his anchor strength gains, as he plays small there at times and will lose stability when he over-extends himself.
3. Bergeron, Matthew

Four year starter from Victoriaville, Quebec. Experience on both sides of the line and plays with a style that could fit inside as well in the right situation. Plays with a wide, bendy lower half and constantly takes a productive first few steps off the snap. Solid positional integrity across the board. Trusts his base and plays with a dense frame that absorbs contact and will maintain control of the engagement. Does a nice job of keeping his feet active to maximize his twitch and ability to redirect in a hurry. Solid lockout game with the right hand placement as he latches on. Intelligent player that stays home on complex stunts, twists, and blitzes. Tends to be late when shifting weight to his outside foot. Needs better weight distribution left and right when in pass protection.

Four year starter from New Carrollton, MD. Honorable Mention All-Big Ten each of the past two years. A light and easy mover post snap that immediately snaps into position when an upright chest and flexion at the knees. Can play on the balls of his feet against movement but will quickly screw himself into the ground when he needs to absorb contact. Stays square to the defender and will not evade his lower body techniques. Trusts himself to move in all directions faster than the defender and he usually can. Maintains power on the move and it shows against second/third level defenders. Will get out in front and create his own path for a ball carrier to use. Converts his ability to move into power. Has come a long way over his career when it comes to consistency and skill set but must improve his staying power against the bull rush. Will need more push in the run game as well.

Two year starter from Indianapolis, IN. Second team All-Big Ten in 2021, his first season as a starter. Overwhelming size. A mountain among hills on the football field. Plays as wide as he does long. Simply a tough wall to even get around for pass rushers and possesses the kind of power that can stop a locomotive dead on the tracks. Top heavy frame allows him to move swiftly enough in space. A recipient of multiple Division I basketball offers out of high school. Can play light on his feet and remain patient. Unique blend of tools that can be considered rare. Still raw from a big picture perspective, as he falls below the average experience level at this point. Tends to get sloppy with set up techniques, which lead to balance issues.
