QB

Tua Tagovailoa / MIA – Round 1

The Dolphins nearly pulled off the upset against the defending Super Bowl champs.  They went up early, then found themselves down by 20 before fighting back and getting within 6 in the 4th quarter.  Tagovailoa finished with 316 yards / 2 TD-1 INT on 28-48 passing including some clutch plays down the stretch.

RB

Jonathan Taylor / IND – Round 2

Taylor has broken out of his shell and the IND offense all of a sudden looks dangerous.  He had 150 yards on just 20 carries with 2 touchdowns while adding 15 yards on 2 catches.  His 62-yard score showed an elite level of burst and runaway speed.

WR

Brandon Aiyuk / SF – Round 1

With injuries mounting even more so than they already have on offense, Aiyuk is now the go-to playmaker on SF.  He was thrown to 16 times and it created a 10 catch / 119 yard line for the rookie who is growing in confidence when it comes to both route running and ability after the catch.

TE

Cole Kmet / CHI – Round 2

The CHI offense scored a season high 36 points and gained 410 yards, the most since week 3.  They are working with a balanced attack, largely stemming from Kmet’s uptick in playing time over the one dimensional Jimmy Graham.  Kmet was a key blocker on the outside and added 42 yards on 4 catches.

OT

Tristan Wirfs / TB – Round 1

Wirfs has now gone 2 straight games without allowing a single pressure.  His run blocking has become a key cog to their game plan and the staff around TB have been open about the fact he is playing at an All-Pro level.

OG/OC

Solomon Kindley / MIA – Round 4

Kindley was re-inserted into the lineup and came out with one of his better run blocking performances of the season.  Head Coach Brian Flores sees him as a long term solution inside and even though he has to get more consistent in the passing game, his sheer size and power has been a difference maker for the surprising Dolphins.

EDGE

Chase Young / WAS – Round 1

The WAS defense continues to play at an elite level across the board.  This week they scored 2 touchdowns, one of them being a fumble return by Young.  He also added 6 tackles / 1 sack /  2 PD / 1 FF and 3 pressures.  Chase Young has arrived and is here to stay.

DT

Doug Costin / JAX – UDFA

Costin’s snaps are going up in place of former first round pick Taven Bryan.  He has been playing on a hot streak, recording 4 tackles, 2 pressures, 1 QB hit, and a fumble recovery against TEN.  Costin is a little undersized but his run defense has been notable, using effective hand work and quick reactions post-snap.

LB

Tae Crowder / NYG – Round 7

The NYG defense played a lot better than the box score would suggest.  ARZ started at midfield or better in 4 of their first 5 possessions.  Crowder was a key cog to the defense with his 4 tackles and 2 pressures.  He is becoming one of the better blitzing linebackers on the team if not already the best.

CB

AJ Terrell / ATL – Round 1

Terrell is still allowing a bit too much against underneath routes, but the rookie just isn’t getting beat deep and he is playing a very physical brand.  He had 13 tackles and a PD.  Terrell also forced a fumble for the 3rd time in 4 games.

S

Antoine Winfield / TB – Round 2

Winfield was all over the field in TB’s win over MIN, a top 5 passing attack in the league.  MIN’s 173 yards in the air were their third fewest of the year.  Winfield had 11 tackles / 1 sack / 1 forced fumble as the TB defense continues to be the leading catalyst to their turnaround.
