2025 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about WILLIE LAMPKIN:
North Carolina | Hometown: Lakeland, FL | HT: 5106 | WT: 279 | 40 time: 5.21 | Hand: 1018 | Arm: 3112 | Wing: 7812
Five year starter (three at Coastal Carolina). Third team All-ACC in 2023 and first team All-ACC in 2024. Was the Sun Belt Lineman of the Year in 2022. Has 57 starts at both guard positions and left tackle. You can’t talk about Lampkin without mentioning that he is a 5’10 270-pound offensive lineman. That said, he’s a former unbeaten wrestler with a wide body and incredible balance and quickness. Those skills have carried over into his football career. Has great grip strength and excellent overall agility for a guard or center. Has a burst off the ball and is a well-developed run blocker. Good precise step to the “1”. Cleans up the defensive lineman when double teaming. Plays with great leverage, low back end and a flat back. Has shown good ability to shift gears from a pass set to firming up. His good feet allow him to bounce back and forth, inside and outside on pass protection. An overall athlete who may be best suited to permanently move to center, which may eliminate some of the “size” questions. His physical stats are not even on next level charts. Will catch the defender. He has a hitch in his run blocking, and at times hops into his position step. Will occasionally set his hands too wide. The question is, is he a guard or center and could he be a blocking back? Has performed well and deserves the opportunity to show his skills. Any weakness he has is strictly because of his size. Way too skilled of a player to ignore. Should be a late round pick with an opportunity to make a team.
Draft projection: 7th round/PFA
