Two year starter. Honorable mention All-Pac 12 in 2023. Played his first two years at Oregon before transferring for his final two years at UCLA. Caught 81 passes and six touchdowns at the two schools over his career. A big-bodied tight end who has the size and demeanor to be a force as a blocker. Spent more time unattached because of his agility in space. Flashes quickness off the ball and does a nice job with tag blocks with the tackles and gets some movement. Possesses strong hands and the ability to high point the ball. Makes tough catches and has solid run after the catch skill. Runs very controlled short routes and knows how to get open against zone coverage. Average power as a blocker and does not generate a lot of movement. Would like to see him extend some of his receptions into more yards. Has to continue to add to his functional strength, while continuing to develop his “tool box” for run blocking. Needs to work on hand placement and pad level and shooting his hands to the numbers of the defender. Lacks speed and can be slow breaking off the stem. Route running is inconsistent and can get rounded off at times. Passes all the eyeball tests for a professional football player. Needs to continue to hone in on his ability to run block.
