Boston College | Hometown: Riverton, NJ | HT: 6026 | WT: 312 | 40 time: 5.04 | Hand: 0912 | Arm: 3300 | Wing: 8100
Four-year starter. Third-team All-ACC this past season. Played a combination of one-tech and three-tech in Boston College’s defense. Solid-sized prospect with decent arm length. Fires off the line like a cannonball and slams into linemen. Uses his explosiveness to shoot into gap versus both zone and gap scheme to tackle the ball carrier in the backfield. Drops his pads when picking up double teams and can hunker down making it difficult for linemen to climb to the second level. Fights his way into gaps and can flip his hips to work laterally into the backfield. Strong hands to help him throw off centers and smaller linemen. Substantial cornering ability when flipping his hips inside towards the quarterback. Gets his arms up when he can’t get to the quarterback to break up passes at the line. Recognizes screens quickly and is able to redirect. Closes on ball carriers quickly and engulfs them to finish. Occasional slow first step off the line allowing him to get reached versus zone runs. Needs to work on getting his hands inside more frequently. When two-gapping, can get turned out opening up giant lanes in the opposite gap. Gets turned out often on zone plays rather than staying square to the line. Provides little value in pass rush. Does not possess a polished pass rush move other than his bullrush and rarely generates pressure. Fringe athleticism hinders his ability to stunt.
2024 Stats: 42 T, 7 TFL, 3 PBU, 3 QBH. Draft projection: 7th round/PFA
