One-year starter. Second-team All-SWAC this past season. Typically aligned as the outside cornerback and played both to the field and boundary. Massive cornerback prospect with an elite height/weight combination, long arms, and great muscle definition. Opens up and drops fluidly in zone coverage while reading quarterback intentions. Notable mental processing skills to read route concepts to his side of the field and adjust his drop accordingly. In quarters coverage, he is instinctive with quick reaction skills to pick up his target. In underneath zone coverage, uses his physical playstyle to jam receivers and disrupt routes to leverage his area. Displays an eagerness to dominate pass catchers at the line with active, violent hands in press coverage. Fight with receivers downfield to slow their route. Plays with solid man technique and excellent eye discipline to stick with receivers on short and intermediate routes. Looks back for the ball in-phase while using his size to squeeze receivers to the sideline. His best feature is his ball skills as he regularly breaks up passes at the catchpoint with a knack for finding the rock. Utilizes his long arms to get hands in the way of passes, coming away with interceptions and pass break-ups. Plays the receiver’s hands to break up passes with his back to the quarterback. Tackles with proper technique. Opens his hips too early in man coverage and allows receivers to attack his leverage. Lumbers to carry fast receivers vertical downfield with subpar foot speed. Slow in transition which alters his effectiveness to drive on receivers underneath him. Shows some tightness in his hips when flipping around his frame. Susceptible to double moves and bites regularly. Undercuts routes that make him prone to giving up big plays.
