Four-year starter who did not make a start during the 2023 season. Transfer from Mississippi State who was named a team captain in 2023. Plays a healthy mixture of one-tech and three-tech in Florida State’s even fronts with a variation of over/under looks. Possesses great height with exceptional weight; well-built interior defensive lineman with a thick midsection and good butt girth. Solid upper body strength to create decent knockback on contact. Gets good push in the pocket using his strong upper body. Controls the line-of-scrimmage with aggressiveness at the point-of-attack. Strong hands when engaged to push and pull offensive linemen to show up in the gap. Notable anchor versus double teams as he gives up little room and will squeeze into gaps to show up in the backfield. Quick burst in pass rush with the ability to redirect quickly when the quarterback gets the ball out fast. Utilizes an array of moves to help him beat blocks on contact, including a polished snatch move and swim move. Solid lateral agility on stunts. Fringe ability to diagnose run/pass which causes inconsistent violence on engagement. Plays with high pad level; he loses leverage quickly and gets knocked off the line-of-scrimmage regularly. Inconsistent hand placement; regularly lands them high and outside on the shoulder pads. Short arms limit his ability to shed blocks when offensive linemen latch on. Ends up on the ground too often. Gets washed down the line versus zone run concepts and struggles to reset his base when he gets uprooted. A project who can develop into a serviceable starter in the NFL.
