2024 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JAVION COHEN:
Miami | HT: 6043 | WT: 324 | 40 time: 5.34 | Arm: 3400 | Hand: 0978 | Wing: 8012
Three-year starter. All-SEC in 2022 and All-ACC in 2023. Spent three years at Alabama before transferring to Miami for his final season. Cohen has the body and power to handle pro defensive linemen right away. He plays with long arms and heavy hands, providing a difficult obstacle for defenders to get through off the snap. When he is squared up and locked on, Cohen is a boulder that holds his ground well and will win the matchup. He allowed just one sack over his career (1,397 pass block snaps). It is the lateral movement and reaction that gets him into trouble. Simply put, Cohen does not play the game with his feet well enough, and it gets him into trouble often. He puts himself into bad situations, hindering his natural ability. He is a project for an offensive line coach that will need to change several of his habits. Power and baseline athletic ability complement his frame well. Can get off the ball with explosive power. Will create movement at the point of attack. Shows ability to drive block. Can use length to keep defenders away from his frame. Too much attention on his hands, not enough on his feet. Hinges from the waist and falls offline. Struggles to stay attached. Misses his target in space.
