Two-year starter. All-ACC in 2023. Means began his career at Tennessee as a defensive back where he spent just one year. He transferred to Louisiana Tech in 2020 and sat out the year. He led the team in yards per catch in 2021 before transferring one final time to Pittsburgh. He went on to continue his big-play ability, leading the conference in yards per catch among receivers with over 35 catches. This is a receiver who certainly looks the part. He is big, long, strong, and fast. The movement traits can get him open in specific areas of the route tree and his size gives him a presence advantage over most defensive backs. His production never quite matched his potential, however. There is tightness in his hips that show up when he tries to gear down and cut laterally as a route runner, minimizing separation on cross routes. He also does not maximize his size, showing questionable grit and competitiveness. The tools are worth a gamble, but he has a lot to clean up if he wants to be a dependable weapon in a pro-offense. Top-shelf size pairs with credible vertical speed brings a high ceiling to his outlook. Runs at different gears and knows how to get open down the field. Can snap his routes back with a strong and assertive motion. Can out-muscle and out-run many cover men. Cleaned up his ball skills over the past two years. Lacks physical aggression post-catch and as a blocker. Needs extra time to cut his routes laterally. Inconsistent toughness when extending himself over the middle. Needs to learn how to properly use his strength.
