Junior entry, three year starter. First-team All-Sun Belt in 2023. Lacks ideal measurements but has a muscular frame with a powerful lower body. Played mostly from a four point and occasional three point stance. Played different alignments but mostly a five, with some four and wide nine. Plays with a low pad level and consistently gets leverage on blocks. Anchors against the run and can stack and shed versus most tackles he played against. Was a consistent edge setter. Works to the ball off blocks both inline and on the perimeter and was usually around the ball. Solid drive through tackling skill. As a pass rusher, flashed snap quickness but his power rush was where he had most success. Works a variety of moves of an initial jolt including push pull, chop and swipe, and arm under. Has used inside counters effectively and is also excellent on inside stunts. Can bend and squeeze around a blocker to the quarterback. Has the speed to adjust and chase a scrambling quarterback. Size and length is somewhat a hindrance as powerful tackles can ride him out. Shows hesitation at the snap at times and can stall out on a block. Has missed some tackles in the backfield and lack of ideal length appears to be a factor. Lacks the size teams look for in the position he played so he may be looked at as a 3-4 outside linebacker. His production is too good to ignore and he will get a shot at least as a rotational player on the edge.
