Two year starter. Started at Mississippi in 2019 then transferred to Northeast Mississippi CC in 2020 and played one season. Returned to Mississippi in 2021. Decent size and athleticism for a corner, he’s been a four year contributor to the Rebels’ defense. Played a lot of deep outside zone with a mixture of press and off-man. Played with a big cushion in cover three and showed a shuffle pedal to maintain spacing. Solid eye discipline to see threats and balance combo routes in the deep outside. Shows a quick plant and drive with the ball in the air and gets to the catch point. Excellent fundamentals working inside hand to break up passes along with timing contact to separate a receiver from the ball or limit yards after catch. Flashes ability in man coverage with focus on the receiver and speed to stay in phase on vertical routes. Aggressive in run support, he can avoid blocks and make physical run through tackles. Not the best at taking on blocks as he can easily get hooked or kicked out by a perimeter blocker. Lateral agility is average as his transitions can be sticky due to some hip tightness. Gives up too much room with that big cushion at times giving up some easy completions and yards after catch. Occasional stall in turn and run creates separation on routes in man coverage. Ball location is average in phase. There are some skills to like and he could fit with a zone heavy team.
