Three year starter. Honorable mention All-SEC in 2023. Slender frame with solid height and ideal length for an outside corner. Played off and press man along with hard corner and outside zone concepts. As a press corner is mostly reactive with solid footwork to match release. Will use his length to throw a two hand jam and can be disruptive at the stem. Matches double moves and is patient to ignore an early move away from leverage. Can be sticky throughout the route with eye discipline to keep his focus on the receiver. Long arms a major asset attacking the catch point. Can get the inside hand in the basket reacting to the throw. In off man often shows a deliberate initial pedal to keep a tight cushion. Changes speeds well to maintain spacing. In outside zone normally has a big cushion and quick pedal working the deep outside. Gets into a lateral run fairly soon in the route and has vision to see multiple threats. In run support he is willing but is generally a poor tackler as he lacks gather and drive. Lacks an aggressive nature to play off stalk blocks and is easily washed out. More of a hang on tackler, but poor angles and diving at tackles create a lot of misses. In off coverage is inconsistent in transitions as he can be slow flipping his hips or changing directions laterally. Some hip tightness is evident. Gives up too much room as a result. He’s let some receivers run by him at times putting him in recovery mode. Another byproduct is lack of ball production with more tackles and pass breaks than interception opportunities. Long speed and length will be attractive, but will need development.
