True sophomore entry (spent two years on a church mission), two-year starter. Second-team All-America and first-team All-Pac 12 in 2023. Aligns at both safety and nickel. Possesses decent height and very good weight with poor arm length and a muscular frame. He is not a gimmick player on offense, but a rare two-way player who is a dangerous weapon on both sides of the ball. Enticing hip fluidity in coverage helps him adjust quickly. Shows good physical toughness when jamming receivers in catch-man. Sufficient burst and solid foot speed to close space rapidly. Leverages his zone well underneath with a quick processor and notable movement skills. Great lateral agility when scraping across the line-of-scrimmage. Tough at the point of attack and is not afraid to hold his ground against bigger players. Utilizes low pad level and an aggressive temperament to hold the edge and tackle ball carriers who show up in his gap. Works his way through traffic with agility and quick feet to get to the ball carrier. Short arms make it difficult for him to break up passes against bigger targets. Limited range and he will need to play mostly in two-high schemes to maximize his strengths. Fringe functional strength allows for considerable yards-after-contact. His strength and length limitations hinder his ability to finish open-field tackles. Gets out of position when chasing the ball; must improve his pursuit angles to the sideline as he overruns regularly. At running back, he uses good vision to identify tight lanes opening up and hits them at a hundred miles an hour. He makes defenders miss in space with agility and athleticism, and shows notable toughness to fight for yards-after-contact. Excellent change-of-direction skills to plant his foot, drops his pads, and flip his hips on a dime. A good route-runner and electric pass catcher whose lack of length will hurt his ability to win contested situations and make catches outside of his strikezone.
