Three-year starter. All-SEC in both 2023 and 2022. Earned the team’s Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year Award in 2019, his redshirt season. He is an ideal-sized interior blocker with notable work ethic and coachability habits. Gets on his man in a hurry and stays attached with proper positioning. The start to each snap is constantly positive, stemming from the explosion that turns into power which is a weapon for the front. He is an absolute freight train in the running game but there are moments where he gets over-eager, overshooting his approach to defenders in space and the lack of ability to stop and change direction has bitten him multiple times. He did struggle in pass protection in 2022 and while he showed vast improvement a year later, there are still some warts in his approach. The tools and intangibles are enough to label him as an eventual starter at the next level. Holds his weight comfortably and plays an athletic, powerful brand. Creates movement off the ball. Constantly gets on his target in a hurry and shows the necessary hand placement and bend to lock on for good. Maintains good positioning once attached. Slides his feet with ease and will plant his entire foot into the ground. Maintains ground against the bull rush. Athletic enough to play in any scheme and reach his points. Needs to keep hammering away at footwork and balance improvement. Would benefit from slowing himself down a notch. Struggles to break down and shift weight laterally in space. Does not always stay aware of stunts and late blitzes. Penalties rose in 2023, finishing with third most among SEC interior linemen.
