Two year starter. Second-team All-Big 10 in 2023. Has length and height that fits on the edge. Played from both a two and three point stance in the Penn State defense. Quick at the snap he shoots his hands into the blocker and creates separation. Can shed on the move and make plays on the perimeter. Sticks to responsibility in the run game and plays the read zone with spacing and solid lateral agility once the quarterback commits. Excels pursuing from the backside and has speed to chase across the field. Tackles well in space, breaking down and driving through tackles. Is adept at inside stunts coming off a tackle. Shows no wasted movement and has a burst into a gap and can make plays in the backfield. As a pass rusher, shows a variety of moves including two and one hand swipes along with a bull rush into a move. He’s effective working the outer half of a tackle and has enough speed to get around the corner with bend and squeeze to the quarterback. He lacks ideal bulk and can get engulfed by physical athletic tackles. Physical tight ends can turn him out on the edge, creating a running lane. Has too much emphasis on working the edge and can get run upfield in the pass rush. Sometimes creates a running lane getting too far upfield. Needs to develop counter moves in his pass rush arsenal. There are definitely solid traits to develop and teams will have to look at what he can be as there is upside.
