Junior entry, two year starter. First-team All-Pac 12 in 2022 and 2023. Made several All-America teams the last two years as well. Tall, lengthy and slender prospect who flashes outstanding range and ball skills. He’s shown versatility playing quarters, cover two and three along with some experience as an overhang player. He’s at his best as a one and two high safety with limited experience rolling to the outside box. Improving in run support he flashes physicality coming downhill tracking a ball carrier and laying a big hit. His length creates a huge tackle radius allowing him to wrap up in space. Patrolling the deep zones he uses his length to extend to the ball with a remarkable catch radius. A receiver in high school he has outstanding hands and ability to attack the catch point. He’s also made some big hits separating receivers from the ball. Instinctive to read and react to the quarterback delivery key along with route combinations. His range is sideline to sideline with normally precise angles to the ball. Has made some incredible plays on the ball coming from a distance. Ball skills along with big hits made him productive creating turnovers. As a high cut player there is some difficulty gathering on tackles and he can get dragged for yards after contact. There’s been some inconsistency tackling with some notable misses. In going for the big hit at times his lack of mass shows and he bounces off the tackle. Not the most fluid to turn and run, but the speed makes it hardly noticeable at his current level. The best version of himself showed up as the season progressed and he has the upside of a starter as an NFL free safety.
