Two year starter. First-team All-SEC in 2023. Has a slightly smallish frame for safety but his athleticism and energy make up for any deficiency. A high football IQ safety with experience in multiple coverage playing one high, quarters, deep half in cover two along with playing the overhang spot as a nickel. Smooth balanced pedal as a one and two high safety he easily transitions in all directions. Instinctive and quick with read and react he is precise reading run/pass and is rarely out of position. Flies downhill in quarters run support and normally gathers and drives through tackles. Can slip blocks on the move and make plays in space. Fluid movement skill: he's quick to open his hips to get over the top in deep coverage, he shows incredible range as a half and deep hole defender. Processes route combinations with a knack for positioning while reading the quarterback’s intentions. His precise angles put him in position to make plays on the ball. Excellent ball skills he gets to the high point while tracking. His ability to go up and get to the catch point is remarkable and he plays bigger than his height. Sudden plant and drive with the ball in the air on underneath throws. Has been used to match inside receivers at times and has shown mirror ability especially on short and intermediate routes. Has a tendency to go low on tackles and will miss at times diving at ankles. May not have elite speed to match the speediest inside receivers on vertical routes. Lack of ideal height and size will be a concern for positional versatility, but he can find a home in most defensive schemes.
