Junior entry, two year starter. First-team All-SEC, Co-SEC Defensive Player of the Year and consensus All-America in 2023. Flexible, lengthy prospect who shows excellent athletic traits. He’s versatile as he played from a two and three point stance in a wide nine and five technique as well as an overhang player. A physical outside linebacker who excels as a pass rusher off the edge. Has an extremely quick first step and speed to get around an offensive tackle. Often uses a quick swipe with his hands to keep a blocker off and can bend under a tackle turning the corner. Also shows a quick inside counter move along with a spin move against an oversetting tackle. Flashes ability to turn quickness into power and can set the edge versus an outside run. Normally makes the plays in space with excellent agility on the perimeter. He can gather and drive through tackles with explosiveness. Shows sideline to sideline range in pursuit and can run down a ball carrier across the field. Solid flat drop in coverage, he gets depth and width to work underneath intermediate flat routes. He’s quick to break on the throw. Has the speed to carry a back up the field in man coverage and has been used to peel on a back release. Not the most physical taking on blocks, his ability to stack and shed is inconsistent as he can get stalemated. Struggles to hold the point against powerful athletic tackles and can get turned out of a play. Has some missed tackles in space. Block protection is an area that will have to improve moving forward. Has the tools of a solid NFL pass rusher and should fit in a 3-4.
