2024 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JAYDEN DANIELS:

LSU | HT: 6035 | WT: 210 | 40 time: 4.52 | Arm: 3158 | Hand: 0938 | Wing: 7538

Five-year starter. Spent three years at Arizona State where he was the first true freshman in school history to start week one. Transferred to LSU in 2022. Earned first-team All-SEC, All-America, the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Davey O’Brien Award, and the Heisman Trophy in 2023. He has a tremendous amount of experience with his best football coming after he transferred into the SEC. Shows the necessary mental and physical toughness. Daniels brings elite athleticism to the table with ability to create plays on his own. He is a true dual threat who knows how and when to use his legs to enhance both the passing and running games. Incredible agility avoiding defenders, he’s a threat for a chunk play every time he handles the ball. He’s effective on designed runs as well as scrambling out of the pocket. In the pocket he’s calm with poise and confidence with 1,800 throws from the pocket. Shows proper blend of patience and urgency and can sense the rush to find throwing lanes. High football IQ he’s advanced as a processor and can find alternate receivers. Can forecast and anticipate the defense. Will play games with his eyes to hold safeties in their spots. Shows a compact quick release with very good overall mechanics and footwork. Excellent ball placement he can make every throw with accuracy and touch. Can layer the ball between levels of the defense. His deep ball accuracy is incredible as he consistently puts the ball in the bucket. He’s also adept at throwing receivers open against tight man coverage. Body type and issues holding on to body mass is a cause for concern. He should avoid a lot of heavy contact in order to stay on the field and needs to do a better job of that as he’s taken some unnecessary big hits. Will miss his location occasionally on short to intermediate crossing routes. Has had some stretches of errors where he tries to do too much. Velocity is not always the best as some inconsistency driving and following through on throws outside the numbers allows corners a chance to recover. The talent is there to be an elite NFL quarterback.

2023 Stats: 236/327, 3812 yds, 72.2%, 40 TD, 4 INT, 1134 yds rushing, 10 TD, 208.0 QB rating. Draft projection: 1st round
