Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about DARIAN KINNARD:

Kentucky, 6053 322 5.31. Three-year starter, Knoxville, TN. First-team All-SEC and All-America in 2021, second team All-SEC and third team All-America in 2020. Plays a powerful game that complements his long, dense frame very well. He is not the most athletically gifted athlete but he understands the value of his initial punch, angles, and timing. The mental capacity he shows and the trust he has in himself made him a productive blocker in the SEC. Will likely move inside at the next level. He moves a bit too sluggish up the edge in pass protection and the outside foot plays too soft. His hand striking, stoutness, and mental game can be a solid fit for a gap scheme as a starter within a couple years. Densely built with plus arm-length and immense hands. Thick tree stump legs. Has the kind of grip strength that can stop the most powerful defenders dead in their tracks. Understands the value of hitting and grabbing the chest plate with a violent strike. Will stand a bull rusher up and maintain the control of the engagement. Big time anchor. Plays heavy and dense against contact. Absolute road grader in the running game. Productive blocker that simply doesn’t have many losses on tape. A fighter who will get himself between the defender and the ball carrier. Does not have the footwork to play tackle at the next level. Will likely need to move inside to guard, a position he almost never played. Does not keep his feet active in pass protection. Top heavy engagement with his man. Struggles to smoothly move up to the second level. Often leaves a cutback crease underneath for linebackers. Does not get his outside foot sturdy enough. Soft on the edge.

OSR:42/51. Third/fourth round. (A-35, H-11 1/4, BP-20, 10-1.80).
