Ourlads' Profile:

2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about BEN BARTCH: St. John’s (MN), 6056 308 5.25. Two-year starter, Dayton, OR. Only played the offensive line for two years after spending his first two seasons at tight end. Earned first-team All Conference honors and Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year Award in 2019 after being named second-team in 2018. An interesting athlete who bloomed late. Ran track in high school before playing tight end in college. His body screamed offensive line as he continued to grow and once he moved there, he was home. He dominated the Division III level and held his own at the Senior Bowl. Won’t be an immediate contributor in the NFL, as he needs to add power and bulk in addition to making the move to guard from tackle. However the upside is undeniable, as he is a rare athlete for the position that can at least somewhat make up for a lack of lower body strength. Has plenty of room for more bulk and quality weight. Good pop out of his stance that gets on the defender in a hurry. Athletic lower half that remains active and light when mirroring defenders. Maintains quality knee bend and balance throughout engagement. A natural, easy athlete for the position. A reaction-type blocker who can handle speed and quickness. Stays within himself, trusts his technique. Doesn’t have the offensive lineman’s body beneath the waist. Thin legs that will need to add strength and power in time. Has a core strength issue, won’t be ready for pro defensive tackles early. Lacks a strong lockout. Hands play small and weak. Making an enormous leap in competition. No Combine workout. Fourth/fifth round. (A-32 7/8, H-9, BP-DNP, 10-DNP).
