Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JACK JONES:
Arizona State, 5105 171 4.48. Three-year starter (at three different schools over a six-year college career), Long Beach, CA. Transferred from USC to Moorpark College in 2018 and then Arizona State in 2019. Became a full-time starter in 2021 and was Honorable Mention All-Pac 12. Has experience in a variety of coverage including press and off-man, outside zone and hard corner Cover two. Has also played some slot corner. Quick in his pedal he normally plays with the right spacing and fluid turn and run. Solid in all transitions he can match route breaks from press and off-coverage. Can stay in a receiver’s frame and lock out on the sideline. Plays underneath zone with a feel for route combinations. Finds the throwing lane and has excellent ball skills high pointing interception opportunities. Decent speed but lacks a burst to recover if a receiver gets by him. Not very eager in run support and tends to stick to blocks. Wastes some steps at times in press man and gets separated. Shows occasional hesitation reacting and has an occasional hitch in plant and drive. Lack of length shows up at times battling for jump balls. Does a lot of things well but is not elite in any aspect. He’s had some off-field issues early in his career. Has return skill and could make a team as a backup and special team player.
