Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about LECITUS SMITH:
Virginia Tech, 6032 314 5.18. Four-year starter, Fitzgerald, GA. Earned Honorable Mention All-ACC honors the past three seasons. Has a densely built, fire hydrant body that can play explosive and powerful. Generates tremendous pop off the ball and couples it with a lot of desire, hustle, and grit. He is rough around the edges when it comes to sustaining quality contact with his man as a pass blocker. Does not keep his feet chopping and the lateral adjustments are not there. Will need time to properly season, but a quality situation with patience can mold him into a quality starter in time. Nasty demeanor combined with violent pop and explosion from a standstill. Reaches his top speed in a hurry and can transform it into power. Gives a snappy initial punch capable of bending back the defender. Peels off the line to the second level with a controlled forward lean. Solid hand placement with a twitchy lower half. Pulls out laterally in a hurry looking for work. Redirects well, has a lot of natural athlete in him. Does not sustain contact or balance for long. Short arms play a part in that. Ultra-dependent on the initial punch doing a lot of damage. Footwork is inconsistent and it forces him to play a lot of catch up in pass protection. Lateral quickness and blocking IQ are low level.
OSR:48/51. Fifth/sixth round. (A-31 7/8, H-9 5/8, BP-23, 10-1.77).
