Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about SAM WEBB:
Missouri Western, 6004 201 4.48. Four-year starter, Excelsior Springs, MO. First team All-MIAA in 2021. Division II prospect with ideal length and height. Has experience in outside zone, Cover two and press and off-man. Has been used as a slot corner and safety at times. Has a deliberate shuffle pedal into a lateral shuffle/run in off coverage. Normally maintains spacing. In press he ignores the first move away from his leverage and sticks an off-hand jam on the release. Mirrors route breaks most of the time. Is physical throughout the route. Has speed to stay with deep vertical routes at this level. As a hard corner usually re-routes at five yards and can ride a receiver to the sideline. Plays up to the flat well. Solid zone awareness he balances multiple routes and reads the quarterback. Has ball skills and can go up and get it, winning most 50/50 battles. High points interception opportunities with a solid catch radius. Decent tackling skill he is aggressive driving into tackles but at times takes a bad angle and misses. Plays high on blocks and can be stalemated. Footwork is inconsistent and he can lose leverage. Rounds off some reactions creating separation from a receiver. Has a tendency to sneak a peek at the quarterback in man cover also creating separation. His physical style with his hands could draw penalties in the NFL. He has been productive blocking kicks on special teams and can make a team as a special team and developmental player.
