Has good size and length for the position demonstrating athletic ability and speed. He plays over the top coverage with good range and proper angles to the ball. Solid in zone coverage in both deep and flat coverage. Will rotate to the short flat and occasionally match up with a back or tight end. Shows man skill to mirror cuts and stay with vertical routes but will get separated at times versus a quick receiver. He is a better zone defender. Sudden plant and drive with the ability to separate a receiver from the ball. Does a good job with route recognition and is normally in the right position to read quarterback and receivers. Quick break on the ball to go with good lateral transitions. Good overall range in coverage. Occasionally will get attracted to a route that carries him out of his zone. Physical ability in run support and downhill tracking. Aggressive attacking blocks with knee bend and quick hands to shed. Throws his body around at tackles. Shows toughness and hustle. Will rarely miss a tackle by not bending and wrapping. Normally makes the play. Can be overaggressive and bite on a move getting him out of position. Very good chase player who is always around the ball. 2017 stats: 74 T, 4.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 4 PBU, 3 INT. Did not work out at Combine, his choice. First/second round.
