2023 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about EARL BOSTICK JR.:
Kansas | H: 6055 W: 311 40: 5.00 A: 3418 H: 0912 W: 8034
Three-year starter, Barnwell, SC. Honorable mention All-Big 12 honors in 2022. A former tight end who started four games and caught a touchdown from that spot in 2017, Bostick transitioned smoothly to the offensive line. The natural athlete with twitchy footwork and easy flexibility gives him an edge in athleticism battles. He has proven time and time again to play with a balanced, mirror approach in pass protection. Can still be considered somewhat early in the learning curve compared to other tackles, thus creating the notion there is more potential margin to gain. He can be a quality backup with the skill set to play multiple spots along the line. Excellent post-snap rhythm no matter the responsibility. Comfortable in his stance stemming from a proper blend of flexibility and stability in joints. Techniques and balance looked controlled and repeatable. Stays upright, shows ability to slide and mirror. Does not get a good push at the point of attack as a run blocker. Does not have enough hand strength or manpower to consistently hold the point or sustain blocks. Has a hard time sustaining a strong latch. Length and core strength shortcomings will be an issue early on. Loses too many battles on the inside shoulder against double moves in pass protection. Has the athletic profile to play fast enough and if there are gains made in the power game, he will be a contributor.
OSR:5/37. 6th/7th round.
