2023 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about ELIJAH HIGGINS:
Stanford | H: 6025 W: 228 40: 4.44 A: 3134 H: 1012 W: 7734
Two-year starter, Austin, TX. Earned All-Pac 12 honors in 2022. Has a uniqueness to his game when considering his body type and usage. Primarily worked out of the slot but measures in closer to a tight end than a receiver. The well-distributed muscle mass and vertical speed give him a running back-type description. Make no mistake, however, this is a full-blown wide receiver who can create significant mismatches across multiple levels of the defense. He was one of the fastest players on the entire Stanford roster and showed an ascending skill set over the course of his career. This is a matchup nightmare for smaller defensive backs and considering Higgins’ skill set, he could be an ideal fit for teams that want to use an oversized slot receiver. Strong presence against contact. Thick and developed lower body that converts movement to power. Good build up speed that can long stride over the top of the secondary. Tracks the vertical pass well, maintaining balance and control. Strong, enormous hands that swallow the ball. Can box out smaller defenders underneath. A wide target with heady coordination and timing. Tends to let the ball into his frame. Needs to attack the pass on comeback routes more aggressively. Heavy-footed as a route runner. Will struggle to consistently separate on the early portions of the route tree. Does not show enough shake off the line or with the ball in his hands. Higgins brings such an interesting skill set to the table, one that very few come into the league with, and has shown enough on tape from a weak offense to create a high-ceiling projection.
2022 Stats: 59-704, 11.9 YPR, 2 TD. OSR:20/46. 3rd/4th round.
