Three year starter, Belleville, MI. First team All-Big 10 and consensus All-America in 2022. Versatile safety who played a variety of coverage both as a two or one high along with moving into the box as a strong safety. Shows tracking ability moving downhill and adjusts well in space. Quick to read action from the box or one and two high looks. Normally takes good angles to the ball with solid closing speed. Can outrun blocks on the perimeter and is a fundamentally sound wrap up tackler. At his best close to the line where his ability puts him in position to make plays. Very good hand usage to stack and shed perimeter blocks and he makes most tackles in space. Has been used successfully blitzing off the edge and has a closing burst chasing in the backfield. Has flat cover skill finding the throwing lane on high/low routes. In deep coverage shows a deliberate pedal while reading and has range to get over the top. Normally processes route combinations and is usually in position in deep coverage. That said he will take a bad angle at times being too shallow. Shows some segmentation in movement occasionally slowing his reactions. Will struggle to shed a powerful blocker and can get washed out. While around the ball a lot has not been a dynamic playmaker with the ball in the air. Has not had a lot of man to man reps but did get some at the Senior Bowl with mixed results. He should have special team value and could fit as a backup with starting potential.
