Four-year starter, Spring Grove, IL. Earned All-SEC honors in 2022. The team captain played all but 82 of his 2,788 snaps at right tackle. The broad-shouldered, wide-based veteran has a strong anchor and provides a solid push in the running game. Can handle the power of the NFL right now, but the question will revolve around his reaction-based quickness and baseline athleticism. Has a lot of ugly losses in pass protection and the long-legged, potentially too-tall frame may make it tough for him to see much improvement. His heavy hands and experience will likely get him a look in training camp to compete for a practice squad spot. Long arms with strong bear claws for hands. Latches on well and will control the engagement when he wins initially. Plays a wide game and knows how to use his size. Gets a solid, assertive push in the running game. Washes out inside linemen on down blocks and keeps his hips in the hole. Plays through the whistle and will always look for work. Does not have natural athletic ability to mirror pass rushers. Feet get heavy and lethargic. Knee bend is inconsistent which furthers his natural leverage disadvantages. Gets turned in pass protection. Lack of body control and balance will cause several issues and hinder power. Has the numbers on paper when it comes to size and strength but his movement traits do not line up and the soon-to-be 25-year old does not have much to gain.
