Four year starter, Spencer, WI. First team All-MVFC in 2021-22. Versatile back with a muscular well proportioned frame. Former high school wrestler, he shows excellent balance and body control. He’s played fullback, tailback, H-back, tight end and has been a core special team player at North Dakota State. As a runner he’s at his best running between the tackles and can hit the open crease on inside zone and follow and cut off a block in power. Has decent but not breakaway speed. Has value as a short yardage back as he keeps his feet moving inline and consistently makes yards after contact. Excellent receiver out of the backfield he has a burst on flat routes and a knack for finding openings in a short zone. Soft hands with catch radius and body control to make difficult catches in short spaces. Has made some great catches on the sideline. Has been used successfully as a big slot receiver as well. Solid in pass protection he sticks and mirrors edge or inside blitzers. As a lead blocker flashes toughness and power but can be stalemated by physical defenders. Tends to get a little upright losing knee bend. There’s room for improvement for success as an NFL lead blocker. Lacks agility in traffic and if the hole isn’t there he often gets stalled. He’s a jack of all trades but his skill set is not a big priority in the NFL. He will be scheme dependent but could find a role as a fullback and core special team player for the right team.
