Four-year starter, Kansas City, MO. Missed all but one game in 2021 because of a torn ACL. Came back to lead the team in both catches and yards for the third time, earning third team All-Big 10 honors. Was the team offensive skill player of the year in both 2019 and 2022. Bell is a player that is greater than the sum of his parts. He has average size and speed but tremendous competitive spirit and smarts. Knows both slot and outside receiver roles well and shows the ability to impact games both on and off the traditional box score. He is tough and dependable, albeit with a limited tool set. Fits well on the bottom half of a depth chart where he can back up multiple receiver positions, add some return value, and increase the needed competitive intangibles of a football team. Sharp and effective route runner with just a little amount of wasted movement in and out of breaks. Big mitts that will pluck the ball out of the air. Will see it in and has a suction-type feel for his catching mechanics. Smart player who can find the windows against zone. Plays sudden and agile against man coverage. Constantly in attack mode and is a real difference maker as a blocker. Does not have the triangle numbers that scream upside. Average across the board physically. Does not play strong in contested situations, will get thrown off his point. Competitiveness can only bring him so far after the catch, will not break a lot of tackles. Will create more than what his tools provide and has value as a backend roster player who can wear a lot of hats and increase the energy of a team.
