Two year starter, Washington DC. Versatile player with experience as a deep safety both one and two high and as an overhang player. At his best close to the line. Physical in run support he’s aggressive coming downhill in quarters from a flat foot read. He can stun and separate from blocks on the move and generally gets ball side leverage to make plays in the alley. Physical tackler he gathers and drives through tackles and is consistent making plays in space. In the box he flashes instincts to locate the ball and make plays inline or across the field. Above average range in pursuit with consistent angles to the ball. In pass coverage is solid in match zone concepts reading routes. Can matchup on an inside receiver and take him up the field. Plays with eye discipline and keeps his focus on the receiver. Has the ability to get his hands to the catch point. Shows a quick plant and drive on underneath throws and makes some big hits on the catch. Limited one high reps but shows decent range to play over deep outside throws. Rarely asked to pedal and when he does it’s segmented and some hip tightness shows in transition. Has some problems matching shifty receivers on anything but vertical routes. Some stiffness can cause delay turning and reacting to switch and wheel routes putting him in recovery mode. Can contribute on special teams and find a role as a backup with big nickel potential.
