Four-year starter, Fairmont, WV. West Virginia University’s all-time leader in tackles for loss. Three-time first-team All-Big 12, 2019 second-team, and 2018 Freshman All-America. Possesses a long, muscular frame with good length all-around. Played on the edge and interior at West Virginia, translates best as an interior defensive lineman in a one-gap scheme. Solid explosiveness to shoot gaps when shaded. Comes off the ball with low pad level. Physical at the point-of-attack, and good use of hands helps him win leverage. Plays with a high motor. Highly productive player who has an enticing frame to work with. Needs more consistent upfield burst, often has a slow first step. Tightness in his lower body hinders his overall athletic ability. Lacks functional strength to create push when head-up with offensive linemen versus run and pass. Cannot be relied upon to stand his ground against double teams due to fringe anchor. Will often get completely washed out of plays or pushed significantly off the line. Struggles to win with speed or power on the interior in pass rush.
