Two-year starter, Calhoun, GA. Third-team All-ACC this past season, honorable mention in 2021. Towering body with a well-built torso and noticeably long, muscular legs. The coaching staff lauded his ability as a blocker, calling him the best they’ve had at the position in that department. Took his game to another level as a receiver where he set career highs in targets, catches, and yards all while continuing to improve his drop rate for the third straight season. Considerable burst and acceleration, takes long strides out of his stance to quickly speed up and apply immediate pressure to the defense. Excellent body control and torque to adjust all the way around his frame, and consistent hands to secure the catch. Can catch the ball at its highest point with good timing and with full body extension. Will hold onto the ball through contact and complete the process of the catch. Great contact balance to stay on his feet and break tackles, will chop his feet on contact and pick up yards after contact. Shows proper technique and a sturdy anchor to neutralize blitzing linebackers in pass protection. As a run blocker, utilizes solid foot quickness and balance to pull across the formation or climb a level, and engages with great physical toughness and strong hands to defeat linebackers and nickel backs. Tight hips hinder his ability to separate at the top of his route. Top speed is sub-par. Lack of length occasionally shows up inline against defensive linemen. Needs to add more muscle mass to increase functional strength and match his tough, physical play-style. Looks to have nearly filled out his frame.
