Three-year starter, Philadelphia, PA. Earned All-ACC honors last season. Primarily played tackle for the Tar Heels but also spent time at guard. He split time between the two at the Senior Bowl. His movement traits and production should get an initial look on the outside for the start of his pro career. Shows tremendous hand work from both a power and technique perspective with athletic-enough feet and hips. Can seal the edge and play sudden, showing abrupt adjustments and transitions. The greatest trait to his game, however, could very well be the competitiveness he shows on a weekly basis. This is a high-effort, highly talented lineman with the tool set to play multiple positions and projects to the starter level early in his career. Thick thighs and heavy hands. Has a power game that can support the needed anchor against bull rushers. Thin but athletic below the knees support his rapid-fire footwork. Beats the defender to the spot outside in pass protection consistently. Adjusts well after the defender gives his intentions. Accurate, boxer-strong hands with easy and natural knee bend. Stays square. Gets the most out of himself. Plays through the whistle. Does not adjust inside quickly enough. Will over set to the outside. Too often catches defenders rather than striking them. Does not anticipate well and lacks a feel for what the defensive front will do in complex looks. Does not show an explosive trait as a run blocker, does not get the push he could. May look like a guard initially, but his pass blocking techniques and movement should get him a look outside, a spot where he could develop into a starter within two years.
