Three-year starter, Anderson, SC. First-team All Sun Belt in 2022 and 2021, honorable mention in 2020. Shows a variety of athletic traits that will help him succeed at the next level. An explosive athlete who fires off the ball at the snap, and can shoot and penetrate gaps immediately. Uses physical toughness when engaging outside to set the edge. Great lateral agility to tighten down when he feels flow away from him. Excellent start and stop ability using quick feet and explosiveness. Displays a deadly speed rush with a quick hand swipe. Will sometimes set up offensive tackles with a wide path when speed rushing before flipping his hips inside seamlessly and crossing their face with exceptional change of direction. Shows natural bend when inserting inside on stunts and off the edge when cornering. Attempts to punch out the ball on every tackle with his aggressive demeanor. Shows the athleticism and man coverage ability to carry running backs vertical. In zone coverage, able to drop while visioning the quarterback and looking for threats. Lacks the size of a traditional NFL edge rusher. Can easily be overpowered by offensive tackles on the edge versus run due to his lack of an anchor. When his speed move does not work, he tends to stall out in pass rush. Struggles to finish tackles due to his lack of functional strength, and allows too many yards after contact. May add value as an inside linebacker, and he shows the athleticism and coverage skills to make the transition.
