Three-year starter, Blackshear, GA. Second-team All-SEC in 2022. Began his career as a walk-on for the Bulldogs in 2017. He transferred to Jones College and then returned in 2019. He finagled his way into the starting lineup thanks to injuries and an underachieving JT Daniels. Once he took over the starting job for good in 2019, he never looked back. The Heisman finalist plays a twitchy and anticipatory game that produces a result greater than the sum of his parts. He is undersized with average arm talent, and he will turn 26 years old as a rookie. There is no denying the fact, however, that he has a resume full of big time wins that stemmed from quality play in a pro-style offense. He needs to be a step ahead mentally to make up for the physical shortcomings. For that reason, he will be an ideal fit in any quarterback room as a second or third stringer. Lightning-quick footwork and release. Gets the ball out on time and will put it where it needs to be. Will throw to a spot early via anticipation. Good internal clock paired with bravery will allow him to go through multiple reads. Smart decision maker with plus-scramble ability and vision. Can make every throw when he can use the plus-torque in his hips. Falls well below desired size metrics and sheer arm talent is below average. Rarely dealt with a pro-caliber pass rush. Mechanics on outside throws are not consistent. Has too many bad misses on tape. Bennett will fight an uphill battle his entire career but the success he had in the SEC on the national level needs to mean something when it comes to the intangibles and talent that are required for the position. There could be a big difference in how teams look at his value but he’s been too productive to ignore.

2022 Stats: 310/454, 4127 yds, 68.3%, 27 TD, 7 INT, 205 yds rushing, 10 TD, 161.2 QB rating. OSR:4/8. 4th/5th round.
