BYU | H: 6074 W: 312 40: 4.93 A: 3378 H: 1000 W: 8178

Four-year starter, Herriman, UT. Named All-America this past season. Father played football and mother played basketball for BYU. One of four sisters throws on the BYU track team. Freeland was a state champion shot put and javelin thrower in high school and also an all-state basketball player. Has a lean frame with room to grow. The athletic package, the experience level, and the production are there, as he allowed just one sack and 11 pressures over the previous two seasons combined. Played two years at both tackle spots. The athletic profile and aggressive style of play provide a wide base to build from. Wide and long frame with tremendous twitch and speed. A natural athlete who can get his feet off the ground rapidly. Smooth-moving hips and plus-coordination. Violence-based mindset that goes downfield looking for work. Highly experienced and productive. Simply does not have a lot of losses on tape. All of this should add up to a high overall outlook and grade, but the tape does not always match up. Overall core strength and anchor is not NFL ready at this time. Leggy frame gives him low margin to work with when it comes to bend. Lacks stability. Shows numbers to the ground and gets overly susceptible to double moves. His projection is based more on athleticism than skill but the negatives in his game will need to be ironed out before he’s thrown into the mix. Has starting potential but it may take some time.

OSR:1/37. 3rd/4th round.
