One year starter, East Palo Alto, CA. Transferred in 2022 after playing four seasons and starting two at Colorado. Played one year at San Mateo CC before attending Colorado. Slightly undersized but highly productive corner he flashes outstanding ball skills. Has played both press and off man along with outside zone reps. Also has experience as a slot corner. As a press corner he’s physical using his hands to jam a receiver at the line and sticks a two hand jam on vertical release and an off-hand jam when outside. Mirrors route breaks and generally stays in phase throughout including a deep vertical route. In press he is patient and rarely loses leverage. In off-man he shows quick feet in his pedal and plays with a fairly big cushion. Excellent ball skills he has leaping ability to get to the high point and is adept at locating the ball in phase on vertical routes. Willing in run support he fires downhill on perimeter plays and flashed fundamental tackling skill. That said he at times goes low and fails to wrap, causing misses and yards after contact. Shows hip tightness in off coverage coming out of a pedal. Can overrun a route break versus a shifty receiver. Generally recovers well but change of direction can be sticky. He can get too grabby and prone to holding and interference penalties. Wastes steps on plant and drive at times allowing too much room on catches in front of him. Has special team value and should compete for backup and sub package duty.
