Three-year starter, Timber Lake, SD. First-team All MVFC last fall, 2021 AP second-team All-America. Thick, well-built tight end with decent arm length. Will be best utilized in-line at the next level; more utilized split out in college. A ruthless blocker who takes pride in driving his opponent into the dirt. As a run blocker, shows great functional strength and hand placement to create movement at the first level. Works his hands inside when he lands them too far outside. When inline, will get his hands on edge defenders and seal them off with ease. Natural movement skills help him climb to the second level and will force defenders off their path with violence. Uses power to turn out linebackers and nickels at the second level and open up run lanes. A solid receiving threat who separates from defenders using foot speed and physicality. He adds value as a considerable deep threat utilizing great foot speed and acceleration to make ground and separate from defenders. He has soft hands and will secure catches seamlessly. He is able to adjust around his frame using body control to make catches outside of his strike zone. Uses good physical toughness to absorb contact at the point-of-attack and fall forward for additional yards after contact. He needs to lower his pad level when blocking inline to win leverage more consistently. Slow release off the line-of-scrimmage. Lack of overall athleticism, change-of-direction, and burst will limit his ability to run the whole route tree. Needs to improve his route-running ability as he will round off routes. Needs to show more physicality at the catch point to win more contested catches.
