Hyatt was one of the country’s breakout performers in 2022, leading the power five conferences with 15 touchdowns. Coming into the year, he had just 502 receiving yards and four touchdowns but nearly tripled that in his junior season alone. This is the kind of speed that changes how an opposing defense plays. There is a lot of unknown in his game. Inexperienced in contested situations, he rarely lined up outside, and the route running on anything besides vertical-routes needs refinement. Elite burst, acceleration, and long speed. The kind of movement that can take the top off any defense. Minimal wasted motion and full body control once he hits the throttle. Shows advanced avoidance tactics against press coverage. Will make defenders miss and once he gains an inch, he’s already taken a yard. Excels attacking the ball over his shoulder. Remains on his line, will see the ball in, and will not let it hit the turf. High effort player whether he is running routes or blocking. Plus-length and has added nearly 30 pounds since high school. Still early in the progression curve. Top shelf athleticism does not always show up as a route runner underneath and intermediate. Pad level gets too high on breaks, forcing an extra recovery step or two. Has a light frame and does not break a lot of tackles after the catch. While the speed is next-level and he should become one of the best deep threats in the NFL early in his career, there is a lot that needs to be gained for him to be considered a formidable number one threat.
