Junior entry, three year starter, Harrisburg, NC. All-ACC in 2021, honorable mention in 2022. A torn ACL in the eighth game ended his season. Aggressive, competitive corner with excellent movement skills. Has played a variety of man and zone concepts. In off coverage shows a quick shuffle pedal into a lateral run with fluid transitions in all directions. Smooth hip turn he can open up and gain ground in the deep outside zones. Often plays with a big cushion where he’s sudden reacting with the ball in the air. Normally stays in phase up the field. Has solid vision to see and react to multiple routes in overlapping zones. Gets a read on the delivery key and is sudden reacting. Covers a lot of ground with the ball in the air and has made some plays on the ball coming from a distance. In off man coverage shows ability to accelerate to undercut route breaks. Flashes an explosive burst in recovery mode if beaten on a cut. In press man can be physical with an off-hand jam to disrupt an outside release. Fluid turn and run in press and trail technique. Shows mirror ability versus multiple cuts. Has ability to locate the ball in phase and usually gets hands to the catch point. Outstanding in run support, his quick downhill reaction can out run blocks to make plays on the perimeter. Launches into tackles and makes some big hits. While normally spaces well in zone, he’s had some trouble with hesitation versus high/low routes. At times guesses and can be vulnerable to double moves and play action. In his eagerness to find the ball will occasionally lose focus on the receiver creating separation. Has lockdown corner skill but injury will have to be checked out.
