Two year starter, Blythewood, SC. Second team All-SEC in 2021. Fundamentally sound prospect showing excellent technique and footwork. Aggressive physical player, he’s adept at zone and man coverage with some experience as a slot corner. Has experience in outside third and quarters along with multiple man to man techniques. In off coverage shows a quick shuffle pedal maintaining cushion. Shows smooth transitions to turn and run or break forward or laterally. As a press corner shows a two and off-hand jam to disrupt release along with press and bail. Easy quick turn and run keeps him in phase up the field. Playing slot and outside corner he showed a catch technique with solid reactions to disrupt the stem. Rarely gives up leverage as he’s sudden to mirror route breaks and stay on the hip of the receiver. As a zone defender shows awareness of route concepts and ability to read the quarterback delivery key. Quick to plant and drive with the ball in the air. He’s been productive getting to the catch point and has the ball skills to break up and intercept passes. Extends well to the ball. Excellent in run support he’s physical against stalk blocks taking the battle to the receiver. Shows a strong punch to extend and get separation and sheds on the move. Explodes into tackles and is consistent driving through a ball carrier. Makes some big hits on the catch in space. Can be too physical at times as he will get grabby when in phase or reacting to a cut. Can be overaggressive and vulnerable to double moves off the line. At times had problems with eye discipline staring at the quarterback. Has missed some time with injuries the past two seasons. His tools and overall technique should fit with any NFL scheme.
