Four-year starter, Victoriaville, Quebec. Two-time All-ACC. Has seen starts at both tackle spots but was predominantly on the left side over his career. Checks a lot of boxes when it comes to what teams are looking for at offensive tackle. There is a sense of comfort and developed know-how to his game. He will come into the league further along than most when it comes to the nuances of the skill set required to block defenders of all shapes and sizes. The lack of consistency and the need for some time in the weight room could end up stalling the impact he can have on the line initially, however. The question will revolve around just how high the roof is of his physical potential. He is not far off from being pro-ready and if the power and strength attributes make just enough gains, he has the look of a guy who will start for over a decade. Knee bend and lockout game look natural, comfortable, and powerful. Techniques are developed and help get the most out of his tool set. Stays on his feet, understands the importance of playing square to his target, and shows intelligent decision making. Athletic enough to play on an island protecting a quarterback’s blind side. Can redirect in a hurry with no wasted movement. Does not abandon technique. Excels when his lockout is attached to the target. Immense upper body strength. Late out of his stance at times. Struggles to recover if initially beat. Will be the second to get his hands on too often, anchor is not strong enough to handle that. Lacks the explosive lower body traits to get big movement off the line as a run blocker. Needs to heighten his lower body power and strength before being put in there on an every down basis.
1st/2nd round.
