Four-year starter, Huntington, WV. First-team All-SEC honors in 2022. Started games at three different positions over his career, including a full season at left tackle in 2021.Will offer the versatility to play multiple spots. Most of his snaps have been spent at right tackle, and that is where he will likely begin in the NFL. The former five-star recruit was a little bit of a late bloomer, saving his best football for 2022. Plays like a grizzly bear that just woke up from hibernation. The feet are athletic enough and he can body defenders. Explosive physical ability and an angry approach to blocking. Gets movement off the ball. Will make the head of his target snap back upon contact. Sudden hands and feet. Overwhelming presence at the second level. Has mightily improved his skill set. Flashes punch and mirror in pass protection but he’s still raw in the nuances at tackle. The aggression and natural power are there, but at times he seems disoriented and uncoordinated. Inconsistent to redirect. Does not show good balance or control in space. Tends to be a waist bender that over sets and does not maintain square shoulders in pass protection. Hands are all over the place. As a result he’s had more than his share of holding calls. Has the physical goods to be a starter but the lack of consistency around his skill set and lack of coordination may bump him inside to guard.
OSR:4/37. 2nd/3rd round.
