Junior entry, two year starter, Apopka, FL. First team All-SEC and consensus All-America in 2022. As part of an outstanding Georgia defensive line in 2021 he still stood out with incredible production. Suffered an early season knee injury and was limited to seven regular season games but still made an impact. Sudden at the snap he can engage offensive linemen out of their stance with powerful hands and knee bend. Natural knee bend and ankle flexion is elite. Extremely disruptive when attacking a gap. He routinely requires double teams. Blocking schemes have to account for him as he has unique range as a defensive tackle. Covers a lot of ground on the first few steps and is extremely quick with his hands to shed well on the move. Outstanding lateral movement and agility he can quickly redirect off blocks and pursue down the line and in the backfield. Shows a remarkable ability for a big man to accelerate in transition. As a pass rusher he shows a sudden powerful punch into a move. He can get a lineman on his heels and go from there. Has a variety of pass rush moves, again using quick hands to counter and escape a blocker. Has been effective with push and pull out of a bull rush. Gets upfield in a hurry and provides consistent interior push along with producing sacks. Plays with a high motor but has run out of gas late in games. As a result his technique suffers and he starts to play upright. Double teams have been effective against him and he will at times show great initial movement and not finish. He could use some development but is an elite prospect that should go high in the draft. He will fit as a three technique or 3-4 defensive end that kicks inside in the nickel.
