Ourlads' Profile:

2018 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about DJ CHARK: LSU, 6027 199 4.39. Started 15 games over the past two years. From Alexandria, LA. Exceptionally fast, lean, and tall homerun threat receiver. Had the fastest 40 time and vertical jump of all receivers at the Combine. His speed, size, and jumping ability make him a challenge for defenders. Chews into defenders’ cushions off the line of scrimmage with smoothness and easy looking acceleration. Defensive backs respect his speed looking to break their backpedal early. Has a savvy double move set that his elite speed helps him sell. Can run away from defenders on post and go routes with ease. Has average hands and shows flashes of ability to make contorted contested catches down field. Elite vertical leaper. Isn’t afraid to work across the middle. Very dangerous after the catch when hit in stride, but also has some elusiveness in the open field to juke defenders. Displays a solid effort in the run game to block. Also has potential as a return man with two punt returns for scores last season. His frame and lack of hand play gives him issues versus press man coverage. His upright running style also makes him an easy target for defensive backs to control in the route. He is not a refined route runner and needs to play with his athletic ability through the route. Doesn’t create the separation out of the break when closely guarded. Has smaller hands considering his size. Not a natural tracker of the football downfield. More of an athlete than a football player at the moment but has impressive upside. Overall he has the combination of speed and size that teams covet. Has big play ability in his film and test scores. He will need refinement and work at this position. Has starting potential. 2017 stats: 40-874, 21.9 ypr, 3 TD, 18-190 PR, 10.6 avg, 2 TD. OSR:1/45. Second/third round. (A-32 3/8, H-9 1/4, VJ-40, SS-DNP).
