Played the boundary corner in the Notre Dame defense. He was mostly used as a match up corner in quarters or man-to-man. Plays both press and off coverage. As a press corner he uses a stiff offhand jam to reroute and can ride and lock out a receiver on the sideline. Reacts to double moves and is usually good at maintaining inside leverage. Mirrors cuts with smooth transition both vertically and laterally. Has functional speed to stay in phase on a vertical release. Eye discipline keeps him focused on the receiver’s movement and if behind can get to the catch point. Instincts and concentration on receiver’s movement keeps him in position to react on the ball. Outstanding ball skills to break up or intercept. Can undercut a sideline route and get to the ball. Quick plant and drive along with direct path to the ball gets him to a lot of pass breaks. Times his leap to get his inside hand to the ball. In zone processes routes and can flip his hips to react to inside out switch routes. In run support he tackles well but is not strong to take on blocks or blow up tackles. Notre Dame puts him in position to succeed by keeping it simple and playing him on the boundary.
