Ourlads' Profile:
2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about CODY FORD: Oklahoma, 6036 329 5.26. Fourth year junior entry from Pineville, LA. Former left guard who started 21 of 29 games. Made the move to right tackle and earned first-team All Big 12 honors. Projects equally well at both spots in the NFL but his technique shortcomings and inconsistency may keep him inside initially. The footwork, triangle numbers, and desire all have checks in their respective boxes. Drafting him is a gamble as he just doesn’t have a lot of experience to look back on. Strong and sturdy frame. Carries his weight very well and gets a lot of function from it. Powerhouse against the bull rush. Can anchor his feet into the ground and stand a defender up, neutralizing and stuffing him. Sticky hands when he gets good position. Can mirror against athleticism. Will finish his blocks with aggression and hustle. A lot of “want-to” in his game. Has the quick suddenness to his game that can react to late movement. Can alter his plans well post-snap and post-engagement. Fights through every play. Too many struggles right off the bat. Gets beat off the ball because of inconsistent hand-positioning. Needs to show more patience and trust in his technique. OSR:31/39. Second/third round. (A-34, H-9 3/4, BP-10, 10-1.84).
